    The Inspiration

Our designer is Stephan Oberwegner of Max Bentheim Design, Stephan has worked on many impressive projects including The Hempel Hotel in London and has recently been working with Peter de Savary creating a new ski resort in Les Gets. Stephan has an obvious synergy with this wonderful building and his desire to retain its integrity as a historic building underpins all of his proposed designs.

Complementing the restoration project is the recruitment, training and development of the Lygon team. The hand-picked management has been brought together from some of the finest hotels in the UK and Europe to deliver a truly remarkable experience.

As well as the current team, a new Head Chef is welcomed to the hotel, bringing a wealth of experience from 14 years working with the Roux brothers, thereby ensuring a continuation of excellence throughout.

The first phase is now complete with the entire redesign of 12 Garden bedrooms, new reception area and the renovation of The Great Hall award-winning restaurant.

The next phase of renovations will include the opening of the Parisienne style Café and the transformation of the Russell Room into a sophisticated bar area. Renovation of all public areas including the Inglenook, Gallery, Gin and Small dining room. The bedrooms within the Orchard Wing will also be renovated, due for completion summer 2007.

When The Lygon Arms initial renovation programme is complete, the hotel will offer:
    • 76 fully redesigned bedrooms with executive specifications most with air conditioning, including 1 room which is accessible to all
    • Renovated award-winning Great Hall restaurant
    • New Parisienne style Café & Goblets brasserie
    • 8 meeting rooms for up to 80 delegates
    • Extensive Spa leisure facilities
