The Pilates classes are on a six-week course basis, please asked at reception for details on our taster sessions. *These classes carry an additional charge to members (£4) and non-members (£5) **These classes take place in the pool. The pool will be closed to swimming when the classes are taking place. ***Non members pay the usual admission fee Class Descriptions Yoga Aerobics - A fusion of Yoga, Pilates & Tai Chi set to uplifting music that leaves you feeling released & renewed. This class invigorates, tones & releases tense muscles leaving you in a state of energised calm. Ab Attack - A quick warm up to get the blood moving then onto the floor using different exercises to strengthen the abdominal & lower back muscles, with stretches & relaxation to finish. Aqua Fit - A class primarily focused on cardio vascular training to burn those calories, with a little work using the woggles for the upper body. Finishing off with some stretches. Wacky Woggles - A class to tone the whole body based in the water. Starting with cardio vascular work followed by toning, using the water & woggles for resistance to give both the upper & lower body a really good workout. Finishing off with some relaxation & stretching. Aqua Circuits - A circuit class in the water, incorporating different stations using floats & woggles to work different areas of the body. Pilates - The Pilates method focuses on 8 basic principles: alignment, breathing, centering, concentration, co-ordination, flowing movements, relaxation & stamina. A great class to increase body strength without building bulk. It also reduces the risk of joint or spinal damage along with muscle tension. This class is fantastic for helping to eliminate the stresses & strains of everyday life. The mixed ability class starts at a basic level then gradually progresses to build up strength & stamina. The intermediate class develops strength & flexibility by increasing the intensity thus furthering progression. Power Stretch - A static stretch class to help increase flexibility of all the major muscle groups. Class prices Members - No charge Non-Members - £5 Pilates - Members £4/Non-Members £5 Booking Procedures & Guidelines • If you are new or returning to exercise then please speak to a member of staff before participating in any of the exercise classes. • All classes must be pre booked as places are limited. Members will be given priority over places. • Classes can be booked up to 7 days in advance. • If you are booked into a class & are unable to attend please give as much notice as possible so your place can be offered to someone else. • On arrival to your class please book in at reception. • Always arrive on time for your class to ensure that a safe warm up is completed, avoiding injury & disruption to the class. The instructor can refuse entry to the class if they feel you are too late. • If an instructor cannot teach a class we will endeavor to put on a replacement class with as much notice as possible. • A minimum of 4 people must attend for classes to run.
