Jun 2009 (annual)
Twenty20 has brought a new generation of fans to English cricket, and the Twenty20 Cup is expected to fill grounds across the country this summer.
To the horror of some, the bite-size format is the most successful innovation in the domestic game for years. A constant diet of crowd-pleasing boundaries, tumbling wickets and frenzied running is accompanied by musical soundbites and raucous support.
The 2008 competition begins in a group format in June. In July, quarter finals are followed by a Finals Day at the Rose Bowl.
