The area surrounding Barceló Redworth Hall and County Durham has a variety of landscapes and heritage that few other UK counties can match. From the North Pennines in the West to the North Sea Coast in the East, you'll find plenty of different activities and sports to suit everyone.

Unspoilt countryside make County Durham an ideal place if you have a keen interest in outdoor pursuits such as cycling, walking, wildlife watching, canoeing and water skiing.

At the heart of the county, and only 20 minutes from Paramount Redworth Hall, is the City of Durham. When you're in the area, a visit to the cathedral and castle are a must.  These buildings clearly demonstrate the Norman influence.

Hadrian's Wall is one of the most historic attractions in the area. Built in AD122, the wall was built by order of the Emperor Hadrian during his visit to Britain and the remains that stand are a precious memory of our origins and history.

Alternatively, you might like to take advantage of the extensive shopping area close-by.  There's the Metrocentre, which is  the country's largest indoor shopping and entertainment arena, and Newcastle city centre all within 40 minutes of the hotel.
