Three times a year, in February, July and October, York's Parliament Street is a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach during the Continental Market.
With more than 30 stallholders from all over Europe offering handmade crafts and locally-grown produce including organic fruit and vegetables, home-made preserves, bread, chocolates, drinks and fine traditional cheese, York's Continental Market is always a very popular event.
European specialities on sale at the Continental Market include Belgian chocolates, Italian cold-pressed olive oil, Dutch biscuits, Basque ceramics, Spanish rugs and French wooden flowers, along with cheese and wine. There are also local stalls that sell traditional specialities such as Cropton Brewery Real Ales, Yorkshire's finest wild buffalo and Lincolnshire wild boar.
