The Royal Crown Derby Porcelain Company, located on a 4.5-acre site in the city, has an international reputation for producing quality decorated bone china and gifts. A Visitor Centre and factory provide an insight into the traditions, history and the skills that go into making the china.

The two-hour Full Royal Crown Derby Tour includes a friendly walk around the working factory, the opportunity to try your hand at some of the key skills in the Demonstration Studio and a visit to the museum to learn about the history and heritage of the company from 1750 to the present. It is advisable to pre-book. The Visitor Centre Tour is a shorter visit that includes the Demonstration Studio and the museum.

There is also a shop where you can invest in a wide range of quality tableware, gifts and collectables, and if you spend more than £50 your entrance fee is refunded. The fully licensed restaurant on site caters for individuals or groups, full meals, snacks or afternoon tea.
