Founded by violist Graham Oppenheimer, the Leicester International Music Festival has brought the best of classical, jazz and world music to a number of Leicester venues since 1989, under the artistic directorship of oboe virtuoso Nicholas Daniel.
Inspired by the great composers and musicians of both Russia and France, the 2008 festival centres on the theme "From St Petersburg to Paris" and includes works by Fauré, Tchaikovsky, Poulenc, Rachmaninov, Ravel, Saint Saëns and Stravinsky.
