Hall's Croft is one of the finest half-timbered, gabled houses in Stratford, and also the residence where Shakespeare's eldest daughter, Susanna, lived with her famous husband, Dr John Hall.
Just a stone's throw from the Holy Trinity Church, where Shakespeare is buried, on display are outstanding 16th and 17th-century furniture and paintings, and an exhibition about Dr Hall and the medicine of his time. Horticulturalists will revel at the delightful offerings in the garden.
Visitors can see the lower level of the house with a tour guide, but are free to enjoy the entire house alone. In addition, visitors are welcome to purchase any of the fresh herbs and perennials on sale, or soak in the atmosphere on secluded seats and in the intimate tea room.
