Step into the house where William Shakespeare was born in 1564 and gain a fascinating insight into life as it was when the Bard was a child. The half-timbered house is Stratford's most-visited tourist spot.

Visitors can take special tours of the building, which is furnished in period style and home to many historic manuscripts and books. Steeped in history and exhibiting memorabilia from Shakespeare's youth, this is a wonderful opportunity to discover the life and times of those who lived in 16th-century Stratford.

As well as the highly-acclaimed Shakespeare Exhibition, which showcases vivid displays of 16th-century Stratford and theatre in London during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, visitors can stroll through the garden, visit the family rooms and the workshop of William Shakespeare's glovemaker father. A special treat is the opportunity to read the signatures of famous visitors to the house, which are cut in the window panes.
