The Paramount Imperial Hotel in Blackpool was recently a winner in the Blackpool Tourism Awards, held in the Tower Ballroom at Blackpool Tower. The hotel, part of the 20-strong Paramount Group of Hotels, was nominated and shortlisted in three categories - Touism Business Award, Tourism Training Award and Hotel of the Year. In the final prize giving, the hotel did extremely well taking Highly commended for both Business and Hotel of the Year and winning Gold for Tourism Training.
General Manager, Alison Gilmore, paid tribute to her colleague Maxine Simith, Personnel and Training Manager. "Maxine's commitment to training and development over the past year has been incredible and covers everyone in the hotel from the casual team through to head of department level", said Alison. Among the innovations that secured the award for the Paramount Imperial was Maxine's Ten Minute Training initiative, which delivers training in bit size pieces, easier to fit into a busy day.
Paramount Group of Hotels is committed to investing in training, with all employees receiving a full two week's training every year continuing throughout their career with the hotel group.
