The Paramount Cheltenham Park Hotel has recently given its Lakeside Restaurant a £600,000 makeover and brought in a top chef – Michael Rooke – to head the kitchen team. There is a brand new menu, full of delicious, fresh ingredients and smart new uniforms for the staff.
Now, as part of the hotel’s commitment to the local community, they have invited children from St Edwards Junior School Reception Class to visit the hotel on Wednesday 20th June to meet the chefs and sample some of their creations. Sales Manager Rachael Bird explains: “The children are working on a “world awareness” project, so we thought it would be a great idea to bring them to the new Lakeside Restaurant to sample a range of dishes from different countries, specially created by our chefs. We really want to work with local schools to increase their understanding of the many different world cuisines and whet their appetites for new taste experiences.”
The renovation of the restaurant and creation of new menus are all part of a bigger programme of upgrading and improvement being undertaken at the hotel. This includes a complete refurbishment of the garden room, a new sports bar as well as improvements in the leisure club.
Rachael adds: “The lake from which the restaurant takes its name is looking lovely now – we have de-silted it, allowing the Lilleybrook to run naturally and feed the lake, which will be stocked with fish provided by a local angling society.”
